'Any remuneration not rewarded depending on efforts made is demotivating, and as such progress. But again, millennials see that pure capitalism-especially the unregulated type-has rising inequality, corporate greed, and failing safety nets.





So, what do millennials really want?


We want better balance. Smart capitalism. A system that encourages innovation and success but does not leave people behind.


Every millennial believes that entitlements like healthcare, education, housing, and food should be guaranteed for everybody irrespective of how money comes to them. These are basic needs-not luxuries. After they are in place, people can concentrate on working, building, and thus contributing to society.


We keep on believing in capitalism. But we also like it being fair and competitive instead of monopolies or super-rich corporates. That means good consumer protection, real competition, and rules that prevent abuse.


Further, there is a demand that appropriate education support be improved. In other words, it is no longer enough to go through high school; to really get ahead now, one needs all college courses, up to at least an associate degree. 


They even talk about infrastructure-roads, public transport to clean energy, make the Internet available-these form the backbone of healthy economies, breaking the way for many opportunities to everybody.


Most importantly, the millennials are looking for an avenue where every individual starts on common ground. Not to hand them over, but to make such support available for the individual's growth. Equity and not equality is what we believe in. Equality means treating everyone the same. Equity means giving people the tools they need based on their individual situations.





That's not gonna be between socialism or capitalism. It's against building an economy. And again, it can be for a system that rewards effort but doesn't punish struggle. 


As a matter of fact, it is not a radical demand for change. Smart policy is what we ask for.
